Afghanistan has named their squad for their historic debut Test match against New Zealand, which begins on September 9th in Greater Noida.
Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead the Afghanistan team, with other notable players including Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah, and Azmatullah Omarzai.
Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Karim Janat were not considered for the squad as they were not part of the preliminary selection. Rashid, Afghanistan’s star all-rounder, was advised to avoid long-format cricket for a year following his back surgery.
