Punjab’s Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research Minister Dr. Balbir Singh has stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is developing the Government Rajindra Hospital and Medical College in Patiala. Dr. Balbir Singh was chairing a meeting to review the government medical development projects at Rajindra Hospital this evening. On this occasion, he also assured to provide adequate security to the junior resident doctors on their demand and reiterated that the Punjab government is fully committed to the safety of medical professionals in the state. Deputy Commissioner Shokat Ahmad Pare and SSP Dr. Nanak Singh were also present on this occasion.

Medical Education and Research Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is constructing a trauma center at Rajindra Hospital, for which he reviewed the project today and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials. He said that simultaneously, development works worth Rs. 128 crore are underway at Government Rajindra Hospital and Government Medical College, and work on the trauma center to be built at a cost of Rs. 70 crore will also start soon. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is working rapidly to bring revolutionary reforms in the health sector.
On this occasion, he said that the work on the sports stadium being built in the medical college is about to be completed and the work on the faculty housing has also started. He said that the officials have been instructed to complete all the works on time.
ADC Madam Kanchan, SP Mohammad Sarfaraz Alam, Director Medical Education and Research Dr. Avnish Kumar, Colonel J.V. Singh, Director Principal Medical College Dr. Rajen Singla, Medical Garish Sahni, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jitinder Kansal, Dr. Rajnish Kumar and other departmental officials were also present on the occasion.
