Jannik Sinner, the Italian tennis sensation, has created history by winning the men’s singles final at the 2024 US Open. Sinner defeated American player Taylor Fritz in a thrilling match, becoming the first Italian man to clinch the US Open title. This victory also dashed the hopes of the American crowd who were backing Fritz.
The match, which lasted over two hours, saw Sinner dominate throughout. The world number one sealed the victory with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-4, and 7-5. Sinner becomes the second Italian to win a US Open title; previously, Flavia Pennetta won the women’s singles title in 2015.
