Punjab Women’s Commission Takes Swift Action on Jalandhar R*pe Case

Chandigarh, 12 September

The Punjab State Women’s Commission has condemned a recent r*pe incident in Jalandhar, where a 20-year-old woman was found unconscious after going missing. The commission has directed the local police to take strict action against the accused.

Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill has assured the victim’s family of all necessary support from the state government. Following the commission’s intervention, the Jalandhar police have arrested the accused, Balwinder Singh.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to zero tolerance for crimes against women. The state government is working towards creating a safe and secure environment for all women in the state.
