
Tarn Taran/Chandigarh, September 22:
Punjab Public Works and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO laid the foundation stone for a four-lane railway over bridge at the Kakka Kandyala railway crossing in Tarn Taran. The project, worth approximately Rs 70 crore, is expected to alleviate traffic congestion on the Tarn Taran-Amritsar old road.
The minister emphasized the growing traffic problems in Tarn Taran, a historical city that attracts numerous pilgrims. He said the over bridge, spanning 770 meters and 5.5 meters wide, would be completed within 1.5 years.

MLA Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal expressed gratitude for the project, highlighting the difficulties faced by pilgrims due to traffic congestion. He also announced plans for city beautification and infrastructure improvements.
The minister concluded that the over bridge would enhance connectivity, reduce congestion, and improve the overall experience for pilgrims and residents of the region.
