Punjab’s Hansali Wins Best Tourism Village of India 2024 Award
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Honors Punjab Tourism Director and Village Representative

Punjab has once again achieved a remarkable feat in the farm tourism sector, with Hansali village in Fatehgarh Sahib district being named the Best Tourism Village of India 2024.
Director of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, Mrs. Amrit Singh, along with village representative Pavail Singh Gill and Manager Statistics and Projects Sheetal Behl, received the award from Union Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Secretary V. Vidyavathi during the World Tourism Day celebrations organized by the Union Ministry of Tourism and Culture at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Hansali stood out among other agri-tourism destinations across India to secure this prestigious title. The village’s success can be attributed to the dedicated efforts of Sukhchain Singh Gill, the owner of Hansali Organic Farm, and his son Pavail Gill, supported by the Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department.

Hansali offers a unique experience for visitors, combining organic farming with farm-to-table dining, hands-on farming activities, village tours, and traditional rural hospitality.
It’s noteworthy that Punjab’s Nawan Pind Sardaran in Gurdaspur district had also won the Best Tourism Village of India award in 2023.
To celebrate World Tourism Day, the Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department is organizing various events at monuments and other tourist destinations across the state.
Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister. Bhagwant Mann and Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Punjab is making significant strides in tourism, particularly in the farm tourism sector.
