Sri Lankan Stars and Australian Opener Nominated for ICC Player of the Month

Two Sri Lankan cricketers and an Australian batter have been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for September 2024. Their outstanding performances during the month have earned them recognition for their exceptional skills.

Nominees:
- Travis Head (Australia): Head showcased his batting prowess with impressive scores against England and Scotland in T20I matches. He also excelled in the ODI series against England, contributing significantly to Australia’s victory.
- Prabath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka): Jayasuriya’s spin bowling was instrumental in Sri Lanka’s Test series win over New Zealand. He claimed nine wickets in each of the two Test matches, including a five-wicket haul in each.
- Kamindu Mendis (Sri Lanka): Mendis continued his impressive debut in Test cricket, scoring a remarkable 451 runs in four matches. He also set a new record for the fastest player to reach 1000 Test runs.
These three players demonstrated exceptional talent and skill during the month of September, making them strong contenders for the ICC Player of the Month award.
