Union Government Accepts Key Demands of Punjab Millers and Aarthias

The Union government has agreed to several key demands raised by the Punjab government on behalf of millers and arhtias (commission agents). These concessions were announced following a meeting between Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Parhlad Joshi.

  • Storage Space: The Union government will create additional storage space by shifting 120 lakh metric tons (LMT) of foodgrains by March 31, 2025.
