
Chandigarh, November 7
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested two government officials, Harmandeep Singh (PA to DC Tarn Taran) and Jagroop Singh (Data Entry Operator), for accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000. The officials were caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from a complainant.
The complainant alleged that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 100,000 to clear bills related to videography services provided during the recent Lok Sabha elections. The deal was eventually settled for Rs. 50,000, with Rs. 20,000 paid as the first installment.

The VB team laid a trap and arrested the accused while they were accepting the second installment of the bribe. A case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The third accused, Harsimranjit Singh, a clerk, is currently absconding and efforts are underway to apprehend him.
