Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann hailed the recent by-poll results as a powerful mandate in favor of the AAP-led state government’s pro-people and development-focused policies. Speaking at the inauguration of a new dining hall at Punjab Bhawan, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the public’s trust and commitment to working tirelessly for their welfare.
Highlighting AAP’s decisive win in three of four contested assembly seats—Chabbewal, Dera Baba Nanak, and Gidderbaha—Mann noted that these victories were taken from Congress, reflecting the public’s approval of the party’s governance.
Resolve Farmers’ Issues, Don’t Block Their Entry into Delhi: CM
Addressing media questions, the Chief Minister criticized the Union government for its treatment of farmers. He stated that instead of stopping farmers from entering Delhi, the government must engage in dialogue to resolve their issues.
“Farmers are citizens of this country, and their right to peacefully gather in the capital must be respected,” Mann said. Taking a jibe at the Prime Minister, he remarked, “The PM takes credit for mediating international issues like the Russia-Ukraine conflict but avoids addressing farmers’ concerns at home for reasons best known to him.”
On land acquisition for the Bharatmala project, Mann clarified that the process in Punjab is progressing without hurdles but emphasized the need for dialogue to address farmers’ apprehensions. He criticized the use of force against farmers as “undesirable and unwarranted.”

Confident of Victory in Upcoming Delhi Elections
The Chief Minister expressed confidence in AAP’s victory in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership. Mann declared that the people of Delhi had already rejected Congress and BJP, and AAP’s continued governance would create history. “It is clear as day that AAP will sweep these polls because the people stand firmly with Kejriwal,” he asserted.
Condemns Divisive Politics
Mann strongly condemned the divisive politics being practiced by some parties, citing recent violence in Uttar Pradesh as a troubling outcome of such agendas. He emphasized the need to uphold communal harmony, peace, and brotherhood across the country.
Dining Hall Opens at Punjab Bhawan
On a lighter note, the Chief Minister announced the opening of a new dining hall at Block A of Punjab Bhawan, allowing the public to savor authentic Punjabi cuisine. Known for its hospitality and flavorful dishes, Punjab’s culinary delights will now be accessible to Delhi residents. Mann added that Block B of Punjab Bhawan would soon undergo upgrades and also be opened to the public.
The by-poll victories and the party’s development-centric approach further strengthen AAP’s standing as a people-first political force, Mann concluded.
