Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains laid the foundation stone for a major lift irrigation scheme in the Changar region, a semi-mountainous area in the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency. This Rs. 90 crore project aims to address the region’s long-standing water scarcity issue.

- Irrigation Boost: The project will provide canal water to approximately 3,300 acres of agricultural land through a network of 10 pump sets.

- Tourism Development: The government plans to develop the region as a tourist destination, leveraging its natural beauty and historical significance.
