The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab launched its campaign for the upcoming Patiala Municipal Corporation elections, unveiling five key guarantees aimed at transforming the city into a modern, clean, and safe urban hub. These promises, championed by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and party convener Arvind Kejriwal, emphasize improved public services, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.
Punjab AAP President Aman Arora, alongside other party leaders including Amansher Singh Sharry Kalsi, Dr. Balbir, Varinder Goyal, and MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, announced these guarantees at a press conference held in Patiala.

Five Key Guarantees for Patiala’s Transformation
1. Modern and Eco-Friendly Public Transport
AAP promises to introduce 50 electric buses in Patiala to modernize public transport, reduce pollution, and tackle traffic congestion. Supporting infrastructure like bus depots, charging stations, and dedicated parking facilities will be established across the city. This initiative also prioritizes safety, especially for women and children, while contributing to a greener environment.
2. Enhanced Public Safety with Smart Technology
To ensure the safety of Patiala’s residents, AAP will install a comprehensive network of CCTV cameras at strategic locations. These will be connected to a state-of-the-art control center for real-time monitoring and rapid response. Additionally, the party plans to build a large parking facility near the bus stand to address traffic issues and enhance public convenience.
3. 24×7 Access to Clean Drinking Water
AAP guarantees uninterrupted access to clean and safe drinking water for every household in Patiala. Aman Arora detailed the party’s plan to upgrade and expand the city’s water supply infrastructure, including increasing the capacity of existing water treatment plants and establishing new ones in areas like Sher Majra and Sanaur. These initiatives aim to resolve the chronic water shortage and ensure reliable water supply round the clock.
4. Investment in Modern Sewage Treatment
AAP has pledged ₹100 crore to upgrade Patiala’s sewage treatment plants (STPs). This investment will modernize waste management systems, mitigate pollution, and promote a cleaner environment for residents.
5. Improved Roads and Reduced Traffic Congestion
AAP plans to repair and construct roads across the city, addressing issues of connectivity and safety. The party will also prioritize the four-laning of the Rajpura-Sirhind link road to enhance traffic flow and connectivity.

Aman Arora emphasized the party’s commitment to creating a citizen-focused, transparent governance model that ensures the fulfillment of these guarantees. “We are determined to make Patiala a city that its residents can be proud of. Our government in Punjab has already proven how efficient governance can transform lives,” he stated.
AAP leaders urged Patiala’s residents to support the party in the upcoming municipal elections, promising that the implementation of these guarantees will begin immediately after their mayor assumes office.
