“The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has scripted history in Punjab’s local body elections, securing a majority in over 50% of the wards across 977 constituencies. This overwhelming victory underscores AAP’s commitment to pro-people governance and transparent politics,” said AAP Punjab President Aman Arora.
Arora took to Twitter to express gratitude and congratulations, lauding AAP’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and the party’s workers. “Heartfelt congratulations to Arvind Kejriwal ji, Bhagwant Mann ji, and all the victorious candidates for this historic win. A special thanks to our dedicated workers who worked tirelessly. I urge all elected councillors to focus on serving the people and driving development,” he tweeted.

Speaking to the media, Arora highlighted the party’s strong performance, particularly in Patiala and Jalandhar, while noting mixed results in smaller corporations like Phagwara. “Results from Ludhiana and Amritsar are still being compiled, and we remain optimistic about them,” he added.
Arora praised the State Election Commission for ensuring free and fair elections, contrasting it with the past manipulations under Congress rule. “During Congress’s tenure, elections were marred by blatant rigging. This time, we witnessed transparent and fair polls, where the people’s mandate truly prevailed. AAP’s leap from zero to such a commanding position is nothing short of a monumental achievement,” he stated.
Taking a swipe at opposition parties, Arora remarked, “The Akali Dal and BJP have been completely wiped out. BJP’s claims of dominance in urban areas have been thoroughly dismantled. Meanwhile, Congress, Akali Dal, and BJP struggled to even field candidates in several wards, while AAP’s strong organizational structure enabled us to contest on our party symbol in every ward.”
He also clarified that AAP’s alliance with Congress under the INDIA bloc is strictly a national-level arrangement. “In Punjab, there is no alliance with Congress. Our battle has always been and remains directly against them,” he asserted.
Arora credited the victory to the visionary leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, as well as the relentless efforts of AAP workers, volunteers, and leaders. He assured the public that the party would analyze its performance in every ward, addressing gaps to further strengthen governance and ensure better outcomes in the future.
