Kumar alleged that ATP Jaspal Singh, through architect Anish Khanna, demanded a ₹1 lakh bribe to approve the plan for Kumar’s hospital building. Kumar stated that he had already paid ₹50,000 to Khanna, who was now demanding the remaining amount.

After a preliminary investigation, the VB set a trap. Architect Khanna was caught red-handed accepting the second installment of ₹50,000 in the presence of two official witnesses. Subsequently, ATP Jaspal Singh was also arrested.
