Chandigarh, February 3
Punjab’s Industry and Commerce Minister, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, announced that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab has received investments worth ₹88,014 crore since March 2022. He extended an open invitation to national and international industrialists to invest in Punjab, emphasizing that the state’s industry-friendly policies have made it an attractive destination for global investors.
Sond revealed that Punjab has received 5,574 investment proposals since March 2022, with a proposed employment potential of approximately 4,01,217 jobs. He highlighted that the state’s pro-business environment, investor-friendly policies, and seamless approval processes have played a key role in attracting large-scale investments.

Encouraging more entrepreneurs to set up industries in Punjab, Sond assured full support from the Mann-led government, stating that the state offers a peaceful, stable, and industry-friendly environment for businesses to thrive. He added that Punjab’s policies are designed to facilitate the rapid growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), allowing businesses to start operations immediately with a simple affidavit, while the necessary documentation can be completed within three years.

Highlighting Punjab’s commitment to ease of doing business, Sond stated that the “Invest Punjab” portal ranks first among 28 states in terms of efficiency. Nearly 58,000 new small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have already registered on the portal—a record-breaking achievement that underscores Punjab’s pro-industry approach.
With robust infrastructure, seamless approvals, and government-backed support, Punjab continues to emerge as a preferred destination for national and global investors.
