Chandigarh, February 6:
Taking a major step towards accessible and efficient governance, Punjab’s Governance Reforms Minister, Aman Arora, on Thursday, announced the expansion of the “Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwaar” initiative. With the addition of 363 new services, the scheme now enables citizens to avail all 406 government services offered through Sewa Kendras at their doorstep.
This expansion ensures that essential services such as Aadhaar card issuance, driving licenses, passport applications, police verifications, and utility connections are now just a phone call away.
Launch of ‘Sewa Sahayaks’ for Efficient Service Delivery
Flagging off the ‘Sewa Sahayaks’ at MGSIPA, Arora stated that the scheme, which started on December 10, 2023, with 43 services, has now expanded to cover 29 key government departments. The newly added services include tenant verification, NOCs from district authorities, and various other citizen-centric approvals. This significant expansion ensures seamless service delivery without bureaucratic delays or paperwork hassles.

Massive Public Response to the Scheme
Highlighting the overwhelming public response, Arora shared that over 92,000 applications have already been received under the scheme, all of which were processed within the stipulated time. Citizens no longer need to visit government offices; instead, their documents are directly delivered to their homes.
Emphasizing the initiative’s impact, he said, “This scheme is designed to remove bureaucratic hurdles, long queues, and complex procedures, ensuring citizens receive government services conveniently at their doorsteps.”
Digital Transformation and Transparency
In the past two years, the Punjab Government has significantly simplified processes by eliminating the need for physical certificates and digitizing records. Over 77 lakh digital certificates have already been issued, allowing citizens to receive government-approved documents directly on their mobile phones, thus saving both time and money.
Additionally, Patwaris, Sarpanches, Nambardars, and Municipal Corporation officials have been integrated into the online system, further streamlining service delivery. Notably, over 9 lakh applications have been processed online by Patwaris alone.
Positive Citizen Feedback
To further enhance service quality, the government actively encourages public feedback. So far, over 12.95 lakh citizens have rated the services, giving them an average rating of 4.1 out of 5.
Government’s Commitment to Responsive Governance
Addressing the public, Aman Arora stated, “These reforms are not just about technology; they reflect our commitment to a responsive and accountable government. I urge citizens to make full use of these expanded services and experience the convenience and transparency firsthand. We are dedicated to building a Punjab where every citizen feels valued and empowered.”
Supporting this initiative, Director of Governance Reforms, Girish Dayalan, reaffirmed the department’s dedication to implementing effective governance reforms that enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service delivery.
