The ICC has announced the nominees for the Men’s Player of the Month award for January 2025, with three spinners vying for the honor after outstanding performances.

Jomel Warrican (West Indies)
Warrican delivered a career-best performance against Pakistan, playing a key role in West Indies securing a series draw. On spin-friendly pitches in Multan, Warrican troubled the Pakistani batsmen throughout the series. He achieved career-best figures of 10/101 in the first Test, also scoring an unbeaten 31*. Despite his efforts, West Indies lost the match. He bounced back strongly in the second Test, taking four wickets in the first innings and five in the second, for a total of 9/70. His contributions with the bat (54 runs) helped West Indies win the second Test and level the series. Overall, Warrican scored 85 runs at an average of 42.50 and took 19 wickets at an exceptional average of 9.00, earning him the Player of the Series award. see this link also….. Noman Ali (Pakistan)
Noman Ali continued his excellent form for Pakistan, leading their spin attack against the West Indies. He took six wickets in the first Test, conceding 81 runs. His performance in the second Test was even more remarkable. Noman took six wickets in the first innings, including a historic hat-trick – becoming the first Pakistani spinner to achieve this feat in Tests. He followed this with four wickets in the second innings for match figures of 10/121. Varun Chakravarthy (India)
Chakravarthy continued his impressive form since returning to the Indian team in October 2024, featuring in four T20Is against England in India during January. His spin bowling proved difficult for the English batsmen to read. He took 3/23 in the first T20I at Eden Gardens, earning him the Player of the Match award. In Chennai, he took two crucial wickets, including those of Harry Brook and Jamie Overton. His best performance came in the third T20I at Rajkot, where he took five wickets for just 24 runs. He added another two wickets in the fourth T20I in Pune. Chakravarthy finished January with 12 wickets at an average of 9.41 and an excellent economy rate of 7.01
