The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has filed a disproportionate assets case against Gurpreet Singh, Executive Engineer (XEN) and Municipal Town Planner (MTP) of Bathinda Municipal Corporation, accusing him of accumulating wealth far exceeding his legal income.
A VB spokesperson emphasized the agency’s dedication to eradicating corruption and promoting transparency in government. An extensive investigation revealed that Singh had amassed significant wealth through corrupt practices during his tenure. The probe uncovered properties and fixed deposits in banks and post offices totaling over ₹1.83 crore, a staggering 129% more than his legitimate earnings.

Based on the investigation, the VB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Bathinda range police station. Further investigation is ongoing. Search operations have been conducted at Singh’s residence, and special teams have been deployed to apprehend him.
