Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday hailed foreign-trained teachers and principals as catalysts of the state’s education revolution, emphasizing their role in elevating educational standards for the benefit of every citizen. His remarks came as he flagged off a batch of 72 primary school teachers departing for advanced training in Turku, Finland, during a ceremony at his official residence.
Mann credited the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its National Convener Arvind Kejriwal for placing education, health, and power at the forefront of India’s political agenda. “Before AAP, no party prioritized these core sectors critical to the common man’s welfare,” he stated, underscoring the transformative impact of AAP’s policies.

Key Initiatives & Achievements
- 234 principals/education officers have completed a 5-day Leadership Development Program in Singapore.
- 72 primary teachers are now headed to Finland for skill enhancement.
- 152 headmasters/officials underwent training at IIM Ahmedabad in three batches.
The CM highlighted that these programs expose educators to global best practices, which they later share with colleagues and students. “This initiative is revolutionizing Punjab’s education system, ensuring our youth receive world-class learning experiences,” he said, calling the teachers “agents of change.”
Transparent Selection Process
Mann stressed that participants are chosen purely on merit through a transparent process. Only teachers endorsed by at least 10 of their students qualify for overseas training, ensuring accountability and excellence.
AAP’s Vision for Punjab
The CM reiterated his government’s commitment to qualitative reforms, stating, “Education is the cornerstone of progress. By empowering teachers, we empower future generations.” He praised the program for fostering innovation and equipping students with globally relevant skills.
Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains and other officials attended the event, marking another milestone in Punjab’s journey toward educational excellence.
