Punjab Government Invests Rs 2.10 Crore to Revamp CHC Singhowal in Dinanagar

Chandigarh/Dinanagar/Gurdaspur, March 22 — The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is transforming healthcare infrastructure across the state with its “Health Revolution.” The latest step in this mission is a Rs 2.10 crore renovation project for the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Singhowal, Dinanagar, aimed at delivering quality medical care to the region.

MLA and Aam Aadmi Party State Working President Sherry Kalsi, alongside Chairman of Punjab Health Systems Corporation Raman Bahl, MLA Dera Baba Nanak Gurdeep Singh Randhawa, and Shamsher Singh Dinanagar, laid the foundation stone for the project. This upgrade promises to enhance health services for Dinanagar city and 200 nearby villages.

A Commitment to Accessible Healthcare

MLA Sherry Kalsi highlighted the government’s dedication to bringing healthcare closer to the people: “The Mann government is ensuring free and quality health services near every home. From Aam Aadmi Clinics to the CHC Singhowal renovation, we’re revolutionizing healthcare in Punjab.” He also tied the project to the state’s “War Against Drugs,” urging public support to eradicate the drug menace and build a prosperous Punjab.

Project Breakdown

The renovation, slated for completion within six months, includes:

  • Building renovation: Rs 91.31 lakh
  • Public health improvements: Rs 9.25 lakh
  • Medical gas pipeline: Rs 26.39 lakh
  • Fire fighting systems: Rs 70 lakh
  • Electrical upgrades: Rs 15.70 lakh

Chairman Raman Bahl emphasized the project’s significance: “This fulfills a decades-old demand of Dinanagar’s residents. With this upgrade, CHC Singhowal will become a modern healthcare hub, serving both the city and surrounding villages.”

A Broader Vision

The initiative reflects a statewide effort to modernize health institutions. MLA Gurdeep Singh Randhawa praised the government’s progress: “Patients now receive free treatment, and hospitals are being transformed—proof that the Mann government keeps its promises.” Shamsher Singh Dinanagar, Aam Aadmi Party District Urban President, added, “Previous governments neglected CHC Singhowal. Today marks a new beginning for this vital health center.”

Local dignitaries, including SDM Dinanagar Jaspinder Singh Bhullar and Civil Surgeon Dr. Bharat Bhushan, attended the ceremony, underscoring the community’s support for this transformative project.
