The World Punjabi Centre at Punjabi University, Patiala, hosted the launch of Twin Flame, a book by author Surjit Canada. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Bhim Inder Singh, Director of the World Punjabi Centre, who introduced the audience to Surjit Canada’s life and literary contributions.
Dr. Ajay Verma, in his discussion of the book, highlighted that Twin Flame reflects the author’s inner dialogue with the universe and her exploration of self-identity. Dr. Pushpinder Kaur shared insights into Surjit Canada’s earlier literary works and the significance of the new book. Renowned poet Amarjit Kaunke praised the author’s sustained contributions to literature and offered his thoughts on the book.
Dr. Mohan Tyagi emphasized the themes of diaspora and self-identity woven into Twin Flame. During the event, Surjit Canada herself spoke about her literary journey and the creative process behind the book, engaging the audience with her reflections.

In her presidential address, Dr. Parmeet Kaur, Head of the Department of Punjabi Literary Studies, noted that Twin Flame holds a unique place in Punjabi poetry, particularly within diasporic Punjabi literature. She expressed high expectations for the author’s future contributions to Punjabi readership.
Surjit Canada was honored during the program, and Dr. Jasvir Kaur delivered the vote of thanks. Scholars including Satpal Bhikhi, Nirmal Singh, Harleen Kaur Sona, and Harwinder Dhillon also shared their perspectives. The event featured poetry and ghazal recitations by Surdeep Bapla, Kamal Sarawan, Happy Singh, and Lovepreet Singh. Harpreet Kaur served as the emcee.
A large number of researchers and students attended the event, adding to its vibrant atmosphere.
