Punjab Health Minister Inspects Facilities, Directs Doctors to Ensure Quality Healthcare

Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh conducted surprise inspections at the Aam Aadmi Clinic in Urban Estate, Patiala, and the Civil Hospital in Rajpura on Thursday, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare.
During his visits, Dr. Singh engaged with patients to evaluate their experiences and assess the services provided at government healthcare facilities. Patients expressed satisfaction with the free medicines, diagnostic tests, and enhanced healthcare services under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership.
Noting that the Aam Aadmi Clinic serves 90-95 patients daily, Dr. Singh highlighted the government’s success in rebuilding trust in public healthcare, with growing preference for government facilities due to their reliability and affordability. Across Punjab, 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics offer 80 types of free medicines and 38 free diagnostic tests.

“The Aam Aadmi Clinics and Civil Hospitals are revolutionizing Punjab’s healthcare landscape. Our goal is to ensure every citizen receives prompt, efficient, and free medical care without inconvenience,” Dr. Singh stated.
At Rajpura Civil Hospital, the Health Minister observed increasing public confidence, with many patients accessing services. Addressing the crowd at the Medicine OPD and Pharmacy, he instructed officials to improve crowd management by involving nursing and ITI students for better queue systems and promised additional pharmacists and support staff to streamline operations.
Dr. Singh directed healthcare officials to uphold high standards of patient care and ensure smooth functioning of facilities. He emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance policy for negligence, warning of strict action against any lapses in service delivery.
