PSPCL Suspends Three Employees for Negligence and Irregularities: Power Minister Harbhajan Singh

In adherence to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s zero-tolerance stance on negligence and irregularities, the Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) has suspended three employees with immediate effect for their alleged involvement in official misconduct and negligence, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and accountability.
Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO confirmed the suspensions, stating that a preliminary investigation revealed the employees had issued tubewell connections in violation of established protocols. The suspended employees are Rohit Sharma, Junior Engineer at Distribution Sub Division, PSPCL Bhinder Kalan; Gurinderjit Singh, Assistant Lineman at Distribution Sub Division, PSPCL Dharamkot; and Kesav Kumar, Revenue Assistant at the same subdivision.

The minister underscored that such violations are unacceptable. “PSPCL will not tolerate any irregularities or negligence. Employees found guilty of misconduct or breaching regulations will face stringent consequences,” he declared.
A comprehensive inquiry is underway to determine the full scope of the irregularities and identify any additional involved officials. The minister reiterated the government’s dedication to maintaining transparent public services and protecting consumer interests.
