A PSLSA spokesperson reported that the Lok Adalat, held across all districts and sub-divisions, saw 442 benches constituted, taking up 5,40,873 cases. Of these, 4,81,324 cases were resolved, with settlements worth approximately Rs. 442 crore awarded. This marks a notable increase from the previous Lok Adalat on March 8, 2025, which handled 4.37 lakh cases and settled 3.66 lakh. The rise in resolutions highlights the growing trust in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms and the dedication of Punjab’s judicial system.
The event facilitated the settlement of long-pending disputes, significantly reducing court backlogs. It saw enthusiastic participation from litigants, banking institutions, insurance companies, government departments, and the public, fostering a collaborative approach to justice.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Deepak Sibal commended the efforts of judicial officers, District Legal Services Authorities, and volunteers, stating, “Lok Adalats embody the principle that justice should be prompt and non-adversarial. The people of Punjab’s embrace of this approach is truly encouraging.”
The PSLSA expressed gratitude to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, District Legal Services Authorities, state judiciary, bar members, police, and civil administration for their steadfast support in making the event a success.
