Dudhan Sadhan (Patiala) June 9,
As part of a citizen-focused initiative for public convenience, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today dedicated a cutting-edge tehsil complex, constructed at a cost of ₹10.80 crore, to the people.
While handing over the building, which houses offices of the SDM, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, and other officials, the Chief Minister stated that the foundation stone for this significant project was laid in January 2023 and completed in record time. He highlighted that the complex will provide timely citizen-centric services, offering substantial benefits and making administrative services accessible nearby, thus saving people’s time, money, and energy. Mann noted that Dudhan Sadhan is predominantly a rural area, where residents previously faced considerable difficulties accessing the SDM office located at the Mini Secretariat in Patiala for routine administrative tasks.
The Chief Minister said the state government has now decided to build this complex locally to serve the public better. He expressed pride and satisfaction that modern tehsil complexes are being developed across the state for people’s ease. With a sarcastic tone, Mann remarked that previous governments never paid attention to such efforts to improve public service.

He expressed regret that the state suffered greatly due to governance being in the wrong hands earlier. Since his government took charge, it has prioritized such public welfare projects, he added. Mann emphasized that these buildings are being designed with future needs in mind, stating, “To boost administration in villages, we are bringing governance closer to the villages,” and noted that the complex liberates people from the corrupt systems once prevalent in tehsils.
