The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) continues to gain momentum in the Ludhiana West by-election, with hundreds of people abandoning Congress, BJP, and Akali Dal to join AAP daily. On Wednesday, over 100 individuals from these parties officially joined AAP.
Punjab AAP President Aman Arora, Working President Shery Kalsi, Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, and General Secretary Dr. Sunny Ahluwalia warmly welcomed the new members. AAP leaders Surinder Kalyan, Simmi Chopra, and Ranjit Singh Banth, whose dedicated efforts have driven this influx, were also present.

Among the notable joiners were former Congress Circle President Ramandeep Singh and his associates—Parmveer Singh, Avtar Singh, Ankush Bajaj, Chetan Monga, Gurjeet Singh, Kuldeep Grewal, Balwinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Karamveer Chaudhary, and Arshdeep Singh—along with around 40 others. Additionally, Shri Guru Ravidas Seva Society Chairman Tulsi Ram, Treasurer Ashok Kumar, Deputy Treasurer Mahaveer Fauji, President Satish Kumar, Secretary Harvansh Lal Gyani, and Deputy Secretary Dr. Ranjit Kumar joined with 20 members. Rajan Kundra from Ludhiana Anti-Corruption Foundation, and Ward Number 65 residents Bhanu Kiran, Ranjana Bhasin, Priya Sodhi, and Isha Bassi also joined AAP.
The new members praised Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s governance and AAP’s people-friendly policies, citing benefits like zero electricity bills for three years and improvements in government schools and hospitals, which have alleviated their financial burdens.

Aman Arora, while welcoming the members, highlighted that AAP’s policies and the government’s work over the past three years have inspired widespread support, strengthening the party’s grassroots presence in Punjab. He expressed confidence in AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora’s victory, stating, “Ludhiana West has decided to elect Sanjeev Arora. Our goal now is to maximize the victory margin—there’s no doubt about a landslide win. Congress and BJP are merely vying for second place.”
