Punjab’s Groundbreaking Industry-Integrated B.Tech Program Excites Aspiring Engineers
Chandigarh, June 15
The Punjab Government’s pioneering B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering (Industry Integrated) at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, is creating a stir among aspiring engineers, heralding a new chapter in technical education.
Launched in May 2025 by Punjab’s Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Harjot Bains, this first-of-its-kind program in the country seamlessly integrates academic learning with real-time industrial exposure. The initiative, a collaboration between MRSPTU and Victura Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (VTPL), Faridabad, aims to equip students with hands-on experience and industry-ready skills.
Harjot Bains announced that seven of the 30 available seats have been filled in the initial counselling round, with admissions remaining open until August 15, 2025, providing more opportunities for prospective engineers. The four-year program features five semesters of academic coursework at MRSPTU, followed by three semesters of industrial training at VTPL, designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The Minister highlighted that the VTPL training site is recognized as a deemed campus of MRSPTU, ensuring smooth integration and acknowledgment of students’ practical learning. Additionally, Victura Technologies is establishing an Advanced Automation Lab at the MRSPTU campus with an estimated investment of Rs. 1.5 crore to enhance practical training.
Bains also emphasized the program’s financial support, offering up to 50% tuition fee waivers for meritorious students from economically weaker sections. Students undergoing industrial training will receive free boarding, lodging, transportation, and a monthly stipend, alleviating financial pressures and allowing them to focus on professional growth.
Recently, a team led by Ajay Kumar Somvanshi, CSR Head at Victura Technologies, visited the campus to finalize operational details, engaging with Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, Registrar, and Dr. Sandeep Kansal, Program Mentor.
