Following the directives of the Honorable Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala, hosted a Vice-Chancellors’ Conference on 11 July 2025. The event was chaired by Prof. Rattan Singh, Vice-Chancellor of JGND PSOU, with the aim of fostering discussions on achieving academic excellence.
The panel of Vice-Chancellors was led by Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood, Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. It included representatives from four universities: Dr. Dilbag Singh, Dean of Research & Development, Sardar Beant Singh State University, Gurdaspur; Dr. Amit Bhatia, Associate Dean, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda; and Prof. Neelkanth Grover from I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala.|

In his address, Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, Vice-Chancellor of JGND PSOU, stated, “The University is committed to spreading the philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev and enhancing access to education.” He emphasized the pivotal role of educational institutions in shaping India’s future through innovative, inclusive, and impactful learning models. The conference featured a presentation highlighting the University’s best practices and facilities, followed by a tour of the Administrative Block, Examination Branch, and Academic Block.
