-DGP Gaurav Yadav Congratulates Awardees, Thanks Central and State Governments

On the eve of the 79th Independence Day, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, announced the names of Punjab Police officers and officials selected for the prestigious President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PMDS) and Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS), recognizing their exemplary contributions.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) State Armed Police Punjab, MF Farooqui (IPS), and Inspector Suresh Kumar, Counter Intelligence, Ludhiana, will be conferred with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
Fourteen officers and officials have been selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service, including Inspector General of Police (IGP) Intelligence-II Gurdial Singh (IPS) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) SSOC Amritsar Gurpreet Singh (PPS). The other awardees are Inspector Satinder Kumar, Inspector Deepak Kumar, Inspector Jagdeep Singh, Inspector Tejinderpal Singh, Sub-Inspector (SI) Amrik Singh, SI Sanjiv Kumar, SI Amritpal Singh, SI Anil Kumar, SI Bhupinder Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jaswinderjit Singh, ASI Kuldeep Singh, and SI Krishan Kumar.
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, congratulated the awardees and expressed gratitude to the Central and State Governments for acknowledging the Punjab Police’s dedication. He emphasized that such recognition significantly boosts the morale of the force, encouraging them to serve with greater commitment, especially in a border state facing diverse security challenges.
