Top Contributions to the Rangla Punjab Fund for Relief

Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora Donates Rs. 50 Lakh for Flood-Affected People

Chandigarh, September 23, 2025:

Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced that devastating floods in Punjab have submerged 2,300 villages, affected over 2 million people, and destroyed crops across five lakh acres. The disaster claimed 56 lives, left approximately seven lakh people homeless, damaged 3,200 government schools, reduced 19 colleges to rubble, ruined 1,400 clinics and hospitals, destroyed 8,500 kilometers of roads, and caused 2,500 bridges to collapse. The total estimated damage is around Rs. 14,000 crore, with the actual figure potentially higher.

Addressing the media, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora stated that Punjab’s industrialists have come forward to support the rehabilitation of flood-affected people by generously contributing to the Chief Minister’s Rangla Punjab Fund. Leading by example, Arora himself donated Rs. 50 lakh for the relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Arora highlighted that industrialists personally handed over cheques to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for flood relief. The contributors include:

  • Kamal Oswal (Monte Carlo Group) – Rs. 1 crore
  • Mega Garg (Happy Forging) – Rs. 1 crore
  • M.P. Sehgal (Ceigall India Pvt. Ltd.) – Rs. 50 lakh
  • Abhishek Arora (Octave Apparels) – Rs. 50 lakh
  • Neeraj Jain (Vardhman Spinning Mills) – Rs. 50 lakh
  • Deepak Nanda (Trident Group) – Rs. 50 lakh
  • Gurwinder Bhatti (GB Realty) – Rs. 25 lakh
  • Parveen Goyal (Bector Foods, Creamica) – Rs. 20 lakh
  • Sidharath Khanna (Ari Sudana Spinning Mills) – Rs. 20 lakh
  • Suman Munjhal (Rockman Foundation) – Rs. 10 lakh
  • Upkar Singh Ahuja (CICU President) – Rs. 5 lakh
  • Sanjeev Pahwa (Ralson) – Rs. 2.5 lakh

Arora emphasized that Punjab’s entrepreneurs are committed to the state’s welfare. He expressed gratitude for the contributions to the Chief Minister’s Rangla Punjab Fund and urged other industrialists to step forward in support of this noble cause.
