Infosys Boosts Mohali: 2,500 New Jobs on the Horizon

Chandigarh, September 25, 2025

Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab continues its trajectory toward high economic growth. Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced that Infosys Ltd. will invest approximately Rs. 300 crore in Mohali to expand its operations, creating 2,500 direct jobs and 210 indirect employment opportunities for Punjabis.

Expansion Plans

Infosys, operational in Mohali since 2017 with a current workforce of around 900 employees, aims to strengthen its presence by tapping into the region’s talent pool. The expansion will occur in two phases:

  • Phase 1: Construction of office spaces and ancillary buildings with a total built-up area of 300,000 sq.ft., designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification for environmental sustainability. The project is set to commence on November 5, 2025, coinciding with Gurpurab, with an estimated completion timeline of three years from the date of receiving necessary approvals.

  • Phase 2: Further expansion of office spaces and ancillary buildings covering 480,000 sq.ft., to be completed within five years after Phase 1, subject to regulatory and statutory approvals.

The expansion reflects Infosys’ strategy to foster sustainable growth and deepen engagement with Punjab’s vibrant workforce. The company expressed gratitude to the Government of Punjab, Invest Punjab, and GMADA for their support in facilitating this prestigious project.
