Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Hardeep Mundian handed over appointment letters to 15 newly recruited employees during a ceremony at Punjab Bhawan, marking another step in the state’s commitment to youth employment and infrastructure development.
Congratulating the recruits, Mundian urged them to perform their duties with honesty, dedication, and commitment, emphasizing their role in contributing to Punjab’s holistic development. “By providing these opportunities, the Punjab Government has fulfilled its responsibility. Now, it’s your turn to serve with sincerity,” he said. The new hires include 2 Junior Draftsmen, 2 Clerks, 8 Sewadars, 1 Safai Sewak, and 2 Helper Technicals for Group-C and Group-D posts, recruited under the compassionate employment policy.
Mundian highlighted that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, the Punjab Government has provided government jobs to 55,201 youth and facilitated over 2.77 lakh private-sector jobs. He reiterated the government’s focus on ensuring equitable progress while enhancing water and sanitation facilities through the Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Yojana.

Since 2022-23, the Water Supply and Sanitation Department has recruited 58 Junior Engineers, 77 Junior Draftsmen, 36 Clerks, 27 Stenotypists, 19 Junior Technicians, 75 Helper Technicals, and 45 Sewadars. Mundian noted that the ongoing recruitment drive aims to fill vacant posts to ensure the smooth execution and timely completion of both ongoing and new projects. The addition of these 15 employees will strengthen the department’s capacity to deliver critical water and sanitation services across rural Punjab.
The ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Principal Secretary Nilkanth S. Avhad, Head of Department Pallavi, and the department’s Chief Engineers.
