2nd National Seminar on Alternative Dispute Resolution in Consumer Protection in India

Patiala, (20 April)

The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) and Centre for Consumer Protection Law and Advocacy (CPLA) RGNUL, Punjab and Dr. PC Markanda Chair on ADR, organized the 2nd National Seminar on Alternative Dispute Resolution in Consumer Protection in India on 20th April 2024.

There were four parallel Technical Sessions and 35 papers were presented on various themes of ADR and Consumer Law exploring the interrelationship between ADR and consumer law through contemporary dimensions such as online mediation and its future, use of artificial intelligence in online dispute resolution mechanism etc. The event started with a glimpse into the regulatory landscape of ADR by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jai Shankar Singh. This was followed by introductory remarks by Hon’ble Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Anand Pawar and the Head Co-ordinator of the event Dr. Gurmanpreet Kaur, Associate Professor of Law, RGNUL. The event was co-cordinated by Dr. Sangeeta Taak, Dr. Ankit Srivastava and Dr. Wazida Rehman. Finally, the event ended with a valedictory session with a cumulative presence of all the organizers, paper presenters and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jai Shankar Singh.
