Khudian Hands Over Appointment Letters to Veterinary Officers, Inspectors & Dairy Development Inspectors
Chandigarh, April 15
In a significant boost to the animal husbandry sector, Punjab Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister Gurmeet Khudian today distributed appointment letters to three Veterinary Officers, one Veterinary Inspector, and 16 Dairy Development Inspectors (Grade 2).
The Minister revealed that since 2022, the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government has filled a total of 1,257 vacancies in the Animal Husbandry Department through a transparent and merit-based recruitment process.
Highlighting the appointments, S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian stated that the government has recruited:
- 619 Veterinary Officers
- 579 Veterinary Inspectors
Additionally, the department has appointed 16 Clerks (Sadar office), 2 Milk Recorders, 7 Laboratory Assistants, 7 Computer Operators/Enumerators/Punchers, 1 Machine Operator, 1 Incubator Operator, 2 Legal Clerks, and 8 Stenotypists.

He further informed that 14 Clerks and 1 Laboratory Assistant have been appointed on compassionate grounds.
Congratulating the newly appointed officials, the Minister urged them to perform their duties with full dedication and sincerity. He emphasised that their commitment will help provide timely and quality veterinary services to livestock farmers and dairy owners across the state.
Khudian said that the Mann government has not only filled the long-pending vacant posts but has done so with complete transparency. He added that the induction of these new recruits will significantly strengthen livestock healthcare services, improve dairy productivity, and enhance disease prevention and control mechanisms in Punjab’s rural areas.
