Sangrur Member of Parliament Meet Hayer delivered an impressive performance at the 6th National Parliamentarians’ Badminton Championship, winning three titles and finishing runner-up in another category. The championship was held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi.
Hayer emerged victorious in the Men’s Singles final, defeating Uday Srinivas 11-21, 21-17, 22-20 in a closely fought contest.
In the Men’s Doubles final, Hayer, partnering with fellow MP KD Singh, defeated Aga Syed Ruhela and Medha Raghunandi Reddy 21-13, 18-21, 21-14.
He also won the MPs and Partners’ Doubles title alongside Biplab Mishra, defeating Arshad Khan and Rajiv Pratap Rudy 21-10, 21-16.

Hayer and Ranjita Ranjan finished runners-up in the MPs’ Mixed Doubles event.
Speaking about the championship, Hayer said the tournament provided Members of Parliament with an excellent opportunity to participate in sports, strengthen camaraderie and promote physical fitness. He expressed his happiness and pride at being part of the memorable sporting event.
Notably, Hayer had also won five titles at last year’s championship, further highlighting his strong badminton credentials.
