Mandhana Storms to 124 as India Crush Hong Kong by 137 Runs, Enter Semis

India produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Hong Kong, China by 137 runs in Match 7 of the Women’s Asia Cup T20 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium on September 3. India posted 193/5 in 20 overs before bowling Hong Kong out for just 56 in 16.2 overs.

India’s Innings: Mandhana’s Record-Breaking Knock

After Hong Kong won the toss and opted to field, India made a strong start. Smriti Mandhana dominated the innings, smashing a magnificent 124 runs from 64 balls at a strike rate of 193.75. Her innings included 14 fours and 7 sixes.

Mandhana received good support from Shafali Verma, who scored 28 off 17 balls, including three fours and two sixes. The pair put India firmly in control during the opening phase.

Mandhana’s 124 was not just a match-winning innings—it was a record-setting performance. It became her second T20I century, making her the first Indian woman to score two centuries in Women’s T20Is. Her score was also reported as the highest individual score in Women’s T20 Asia Cup history, surpassing the previous record.

She was named Player of the Match for her sensational innings.

Hong Kong Collapse

Chasing 194, Hong Kong struggled from the beginning. India’s bowlers maintained pressure with disciplined bowling, and wickets fell regularly.

Hong Kong were eventually bowled out for just 56 runs in 16.2 overs, losing the match by 137 runs.

Natasha Miles was Hong Kong’s top scorer with 15 runs from 27 balls, while the rest of the batting lineup failed to build a meaningful partnership.
