The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced significant changes to the upcoming home season schedule for the Indian men’s cricket team.
The most notable alteration involves the first T20I against Bangladesh. Originally slated for Dharamsala on October 6, 2024, this match will now be hosted by Gwalior’s Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium. The decision stems from ongoing renovation work at the Dharamsala venue’s dressing rooms. Gwalior’s stadium is set to experience its first international match since the historic 2010 India-South Africa ODI, where Sachin Tendulkar achieved a landmark double century.

Furthermore, the BCCI has swapped the venues for the first two T20Is against England. Kolkata will now host the series opener on January 22, 2025, while Chennai will take over the second T20I on January 25, 2025. This change was necessitated by a request from Kolkata Police due to their Republic Day commitments.
The revised schedule reflects the BCCI’s commitment to providing the best possible cricketing experience while accommodating unforeseen circumstances and local requirements.
