The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) in SAS Nagar (Mohali) has brought pride to Punjab, with 47 cadets successfully clearing the National Defence Academy (NDA) (II) Written Examination for the NDA-156 Course, as announced by the UPSC on Wednesday evening. The course is scheduled to commence in June 2026.
Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training Minister Aman Arora lauded the achievement, noting that of the 57 cadets who appeared for the exam, 47 passed, securing an unprecedented 82.45% success rate—the highest ever for the institute in either NDA (I) or NDA (II) examinations. “These cadets are the pride of Punjab. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for their upcoming SSB interviews and future training,” Arora said.

MRSAFPI Director Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM, expressed satisfaction with the results, stating that the cadets will now prepare for their Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews. He commended the institute’s staff and faculty for their dedicated efforts. Additionally, he highlighted that seven out of nine cadets cleared the recent AFCAT examination, further showcasing the institute’s excellence. Since its inception, 179 MRSAFPI alumni have been commissioned as officers in the Defence Services.
