Punjab’s outstanding progress in bolstering agricultural infrastructure has earned praise from the Central Government. Acknowledging the state’s exemplary performance under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme, the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has significantly increased Punjab’s financing facility from ₹4,713 crore to ₹7,050 crore .

Horticulture Minister Mohinder Bhagat expressed gratitude for the Centre’s recognition, stating, “This increased allocation is a testament to Punjab’s unwavering commitment to empowering its farmers and modernizing agriculture.” He emphasized that the enhanced funds would further accelerate the state’s efforts to upgrade agricultural infrastructure, including the development of cold storage facilities, warehousing, processing units, and value-addition initiatives .

Minister Bhagat highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann , Punjab continues to spearhead agricultural reforms, setting a benchmark for other states. He noted that Punjab has emerged as a leader in the effective implementation of the AIF scheme, with numerous projects already transforming the agricultural landscape. These initiatives are expected to boost farmers’ incomes and strengthen the overall agricultural ecosystem in the state.

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare lauded Punjab’s leadership in implementing the AIF scheme. The Centre specifically commended the state for its consistent performance, securing a top position nationwide in the approval and execution of agricultural infrastructure projects.

WhatsApp Helpline Launched for Farmer Assistance

To ensure seamless implementation of the AIF scheme, the Punjab Horticulture Department , which serves as the State Nodal Agency for the initiative, has launched a dedicated WhatsApp helpline number: 9056092906 . Farmers can use this platform to seek information and resolve queries related to the scheme.

Minister Bhagat reiterated that the government remains committed to providing robust support to farmers, ensuring they benefit from modern infrastructure and technological advancements. This increased allocation under the AIF scheme underscores the state’s dedication to fostering sustainable growth and prosperity in Punjab’s agricultural sector.

Punjab’s success in implementing the AIF scheme reflects its proactive approach to addressing the needs of farmers and building a resilient agricultural framework, aligning with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision of a farmer-centric administration.
