Patiala, October 5
The PWD Engineers Association elected its new 35-member Executive Committee at a meeting held in Patiala today. More than 100 engineers from various cadres, including Superintending Engineers (SEs), Executive Engineers (XENs) and Sub-Divisional Engineers (SDEs), participated in the meeting.
Er. Nirmal Singh Bhangoo, XEN, was elected as President of the Association. Er. Ajay Singla, XEN, and Er. Nirpal Singh, XEN, were elected Senior Vice Presidents, while Er. Saugandh Singh Bhullar, XEN, was elected Vice President. Er. Gurmeet Singh, XEN, was elected General Secretary.
During the meeting, the engineers pledged to safeguard the financial interests of the government, complete projects within stipulated timelines, ensure strict quality control of all works, and provide world-class infrastructure to the people of Punjab.

The Association also decided to urge the government to ensure the proper and effective utilisation of the available technical manpower in the department.
The Association said that the PWD, as a premier engineering department with a rich legacy, would continue to play a leading role in the development of the state while strictly adhering to all financial rules, regulations and prescribed procedures.
