Chasing 352, West Indies made an aggressive start. Shai Hope immediately put India under pressure, scoring quickly during the opening overs.
Mohammed Siraj dismissed John Campbell for 10 in the fifth over, but Hope and Amir Jangoo rebuilt the chase. The pair added 109 runs for the second wicket, with both completing half-centuries.
Jangoo eventually fell for an excellent 67 off 56 balls, run out following a mix-up with Hope. At that stage, West Indies were 150/2.
Hope continued his masterclass, first sharing partnerships with Sherfane Rutherford, who made 24, and then Keemo Paul, who smashed 44 off 35 balls.
Hope reached his 21st ODI century from 104 balls and remained the anchor of the chase.

Shai Hope creates history
Hope’s unbeaten 162 was the defining performance of the match.
His innings became West Indies’ highest-ever score in a successful ODI run chase, surpassing their previous best of 331/5 against Ireland in 2019. It also surpassed Brian Lara’s 153 against Pakistan in 1993 for the highest score by a West Indies men’s batter in a successful chase.
Hope also became the first wicketkeeper-captain to score more than 150 runs in an ODI innings.
His 162* was also the second-highest score by a captain in a successful ODI chase, behind only Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 223 from the second ODI of the series.
Shubman Gill named Player of the Series
Despite scoring only one run in the final ODI, Shubman Gill was named Player of the Series after accumulating 334 runs across the three matches.
India ultimately took the ODI series 2-1, but West Indies ended the campaign on a high with one of their most impressive successful chases against India.
The two teams will now face each other in a five-match T20I series beginning October 6 in Lucknow.
