Sisodia Applauds Punjab Government’s Education Revolution
Ghanauri Kalan (Sangrur), March 29 –
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced on Saturday that senior IAS and IPS officers of the state government will mentor students in government schools across Punjab. This initiative aims to provide essential guidance to help students excel in life and prepare for competitive exams.
Speaking at a Parents-Teachers Meeting (PTM) held at the School of Eminence in Ghanauri Kalan, Chief Minister Mann emphasized that each IAS and IPS officer will mentor one government school, fostering an environment conducive to education through meaningful interactions with students and teachers. The officers will also prepare students for competitive exams and ensure teacher training programs are in place to enhance teaching skills. Mann highlighted that these officers will act as catalysts for resource mobilization and development within these schools.
The Chief Minister clarified that the officers would serve as mentors rather than authoritative figures, performing this role voluntarily alongside their regular duties. He expressed confidence that this ambitious program would transform student lives by encouraging them to pursue prestigious careers, thereby enabling them to excel in various fields.

Mann proudly noted the exceptional talent present in government schools, emphasizing the increasing prominence of girls in fields traditionally dominated by men. He highlighted that the Punjab government has prioritized education by allocating 11% of its total budget—Rs. 18,047 crore—to the sector, aiming to create a prosperous and progressive Punjab.
The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to quality education, stating that Punjab’s intelligent students and talented individuals hold the potential to achieve great things. He stressed that transforming lives through education remains a key focus of his administration.
Mann expressed optimism about the ongoing transformation in Punjab’s education sector, which he believes will yield excellent results for government schools and bolster governmental efforts. He highlighted infrastructure improvements in government schools, positioning Punjab as a potential national role model. Furthermore, he assured that teachers’ services would be utilized exclusively for educational purposes.
Critiquing previous administrations, Mann pointed out that convent-educated leaders had neglected educational advancements, focusing instead on personal gains. His government, however, has introduced a paradigm shift in education, urging students to become “grass-rooters”—individuals who rise from the ground to conquer the world—rather than “parachuters,” who descend without foundational effort.
Marking the historic nature of the PTM event, Mann noted widespread parental engagement across the state, providing parents the opportunity to inquire about their children’s education and teachers to discuss student performance. He lauded the adoption of best educational practices, previously common in private institutions but now being implemented in government schools.
During media interactions, Mann outlined several groundbreaking initiatives by the state government, including the establishment of 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics treating over three crore patients free of charge and the merit-based employment of over 52,000 youth. Additionally, he mentioned advancing the paddy cultivation season to aid farmers and ensuring strict measures against spurious seed sales.
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, praised Punjab’s revolutionary changes in education, noting the dramatic shift since the 2022 assembly polls. He highlighted the influx of city students into village government schools, attributing this change to the state’s improved educational infrastructure. Sisodia commended the government’s focus on strengthening public schools, contrasting it with previous regimes that favored private institutions.
Sisodia concluded that the holistic development of students through quality education symbolizes Punjab’s education revolution, marking significant progress in just three years compared to the past 75.
