The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, with Shubman Gill set to lead the side and KL Rahul appointed as vice-captain.
Ahead of the Test series, the Indian team will play a four-day practice match in Colombo, beginning on August 7, as part of its preparations for the tour.
Young batter Sai Sudharsan has been included in the squad, while wicketkeepers Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel have both been named. The spin department will feature the experienced trio of Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Manav Suthar, while the pace attack includes Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Gurnoor Brar.

The squad also includes Yashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, and Saransh Jain.
The BCCI clarified that Sai Sudharsan and Jasprit Bumrah will be available for selection only after receiving fitness clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE).
Meanwhile, all-rounder Washington Sundar was unavailable for selection for the first Test.
