The decision comes in light of travel advisories issued by several participating nations, making it challenging to host the event in Bangladesh. Despite this, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will retain hosting rights and look forward to hosting an ICC global event in the near future.

The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup will be held across two venues in the UAE – Dubai and Sharjah – from October 3 to 20. This marks the first time the tournament will be held in the UAE.
The ICC expressed gratitude to the Emirates Cricket Board for stepping in to host the event on behalf of the BCB. Additionally, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe were acknowledged for their generous offers of support. Both countries are set to host ICC global events in 2026.
