The defending champions, India, secured their place in the final of the Asian Champions Trophy after a convincing 4-1 victory over South Korea on Monday. This marks India’s sixth consecutive win in the tournament.
India will now face China in the final on Tuesday.
In the first quarter of the semifinal match played today, the Indian team displayed exceptional hockey. Uttam Singh scored the first goal for India in the 13th minute. Subsequently, in the beginning of the second quarter, Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh converted a penalty corner in the 19th minute, extending India’s lead to 2-0.

Just after the start of the third quarter, Harmanpreet Singh showcased his aerial skills, stopping an aerial shot and deflecting it into the goal in the 27th minute. However, the Korean team managed to pull one back through Young Ji Hun. In the dying seconds of the third quarter, a goalkeeper error awarded India another penalty corner, which Harmanpreet Singh expertly converted in the 46th minute to secure India’s fourth goal.
India maintained their aggressive play throughout the fourth quarter, creating several more scoring opportunities. With this victory, India has advanced to the final of the Champions Trophy, where they will face China on Tuesday.
