India has established a commanding position in the first Test match against Bangladesh, ending the second day with a substantial lead. India first innings at 376, and Bangladesh was bundled out for a meager 149 in their first innings, leaving India with a lead of 308 runs.
India, who had ended the first day at 339/6, resumed their innings with R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease. Both batsmen fell soon after, with Ashwin reaching a century. India’s second innings got off to a poor start, losing early wickets, but Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant managed to stabilize the innings. At stumps, India were 81/3.
Bangladesh’s batting was completely dominated by India’s bowlers. Hasan Mahmud was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, taking five wickets. For India, Jasprit Bumrah claimed four wickets, while Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each.
In their second innings, India lost early wickets, including their captain Rohit Sharma. However, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant managed to steady the ship.
