Munich, Germany, June 14 (Sports Desk)
Indian shooter Suruchi Singh clinched the gold medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup 2025 in Munich on Friday, marking her third consecutive victory in the event this year after triumphs in Buenos Aires and Lima earlier in 2025.
The 19-year-old scored 241.9 in the final, narrowly defeating France’s Camille Jedrzejewski (241.7) in a thrilling finish. China’s Qianxun Yao secured bronze with 221.7. Suruchi, who dominated last year’s shooting nationals in New Delhi with seven golds, was briefly in second place during the final with 162.3, trailing Yao by 0.4 points. However, Yao faltered with three shots below 10, dropping out of contention. Jedrzejewski then took the lead, but Suruchi’s composed 10.5 in the closing stages sealed the win, while Jedrzejewski’s 9.5 on her penultimate shot proved costly.
Suruchi had qualified for the final in second place with a score of 588. Meanwhile, two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker finished 25th with 574, missing the final. Sainyam, competing for Ranking Points Only (RPO), placed fifth with 580. Asian Games champion Palak Gulia scored 570, ranking 36th, while Simranpreet Kaur Brar finished 51st with 568

However, no Indian qualified for the final in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event, with Anish Bhanwala leading the Indian contingent at 18th with a score of 581, followed by Adarsh Singh, Vijayveer Sidhu, Ankur Goel, and Gurmeet, all missing the top eight.
The Munich event, the third ISSF World Cup of the season for rifle and pistol shooters, features nearly 700 shooters from 78 nations. Indian shooters have had a strong 2025, securing eight medals (including four golds) in Buenos Aires and seven in Lima.
