New Zealand has unveiled their 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, kicking off on February 19th. The Black Caps will face hosts Pakistan in their opening encounter, marking the first major ICC tournament under new white-ball skipper Mitchell Santner.
Santner, who enjoyed a successful stint leading the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka at home, will spearhead the team as the frontline spin option. He’ll be backed by a strong all-rounding contingent including Michael Bracewell, Glenn Phillips, and Rachin Ravindra.

Experience reigns supreme with the inclusion of veteran batsmen Kane Williamson and Tom Latham, the latter assuming wicketkeeping duties throughout the tournament. Both Williamson and Latham offer invaluable experience, having been part of New Zealand’s previous Champions Trophy campaigns in 2013 and 2017.
The pace attack boasts a blend of youth and experience. Matt Henry leads the charge, and veteran Lockie Ferguson is set to participate in his fifth ICC event, leveraging his crucial role in the last two World Cups. Promising youngsters Will O’Rourke, Ben Sears, and Nathan Smith could make their senior ICC debuts during the tournament. Jacob Duffy is named as a reserve player, potentially replacing Ferguson if franchise cricket commitments arise.
