The Global Esports Games (GEG) World Finals kicked off in grand style in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This prestigious event, running from March 19 to 22, 2026, is being jointly hosted by the Global Esports Federation (GEF) and the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), with active participation from the Esports Games Federation (ESGF) and international collaborators.

Several significant steps were taken on the opening day to elevate Indian esports onto the global stage:
- Unveiling of National Jerseys: ESGF presented official national jerseys to Indian players competing in DOTA 2 and Clash Royale. This move not only boosts the morale of the athletes but also establishes a distinct Indian identity on the international platform.
- India-Brazil Strategic Agreement: In a major boost to international relations, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between India and Brazil for a bilateral Nations Cup. The agreement will foster competitive opportunities and strengthen the esports ecosystem in both countries.
- Expert Panel Discussion: ESGF Founder and GEF Senior Advisor Advocate Nandan Jha participated in a high-level panel, sharing insights on esports regulation and India’s emerging global role.
