Two more sons of Punjab join the elite ranks of the Indian Navy

Punjab’s Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), Mohali, added another glorious feather to its cap as two of its cadets — Parasdeep Singh Khosa (Faridkot) and Yuvraj Singh Tomar (Jalandhar) — were commissioned as officers in the Indian Navy during the spectacular Passing Out Parade at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala (Kerala) on Saturday.
The parade was reviewed by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM.
- Parasdeep Singh Khosa — Son of a school principal mother and college director father from Faridkot
- Yuvraj Singh Tomar — Son of the Principal and psychologist-coordinator of Dalhousie Public School, Jalandhar (his younger brother is currently training at MRSAFPI)
Cabinet Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training, Aman Arora, congratulated both young officers, saying: “Parasdeep and Yuvraj have made Punjab immensely proud. I am confident they will serve the nation with utmost dedication and continue to bring laurels to our state.”

Director MRSAFPI, Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd), revealed that with these two commissions, 181 cadets from the institute have now become officers in the Indian Armed Forces, including 22 in the Indian Navy. “This is a matter of immense pride for a landlocked state like Punjab,” he added.
